Acting And Writing

Raayan is a well-directed film. And it was a very well-acted film. Direction by Dhanush is very, very good. And acting by Dhanush and everyone else is very, very good. But writing by Dhanush. Dhanush’s writing, friends. Writing, man. I didn’t like one thing about his writing. That is, that twist. Man, I didn’t like it that much. Let me tell you something, friends.

Shocking End to New Start

The way the film started, the way the film went, and the way the first half of the film ended, I didn’t like it at all. I thought it was going to be an interesting film, but after seeing the major twist that comes in this film, or the twist that comes in the action sequence, I said, Bro, the story is over here. And after that, the film just, you know, descended into madness, and it became something else, and it was very difficult to digest. Now, I don’t want to spoil the twist, but the twist—I mean, the way it changed the whole equation in the family—.. Yaar, nahi yaar, I was like, yeh kidar gaya yeh kahaani yaar, and the way it ended, and wo last mein jo bhi kuch ho raha tha, nahi yaar, nahi yaar. He has to get his sister married, he has to take care of the rest of the brothers, you know, he’s running his own fast food chain, everything is done by Dhanush. He’s taking care of everything. And the way the story progresses, you can see that Sandeep Kishan’s character is a little wayward, a little Mawali type.

Uh, Kalidas is still okay. Dushara is also level-headed. You see, Dhanush’s character is responsible. But at the same time, he’s very calm. He’s very quiet. He’s very subdued. But this, you know, is going to change. There will come a time when Dhanush will explode. Dhanush will explode and Dhanush will rise. The demon inside him will rise. Raayan 2024 Second Half

A particular high point rises like a phoenix from the ashes; it rises like an naan; it rises like, oh ho, like a hero. That was an absolutely brilliant, scintillatingly brilliant moment, friends. Only Dhanush knows how Dhanush directed himself in that moment, friends. After seeing that moment, I said, bro, this film looks superb, man. But, after that, in the second half, when I saw the twist I saw in the middle of the action sequence, I said, No, man, that twist didn’t fit me at all. After that, the way the film went was, I don’t know, yaar. Because there was no redemption, because there was no inspiration, because there was no hope, I said, bro, from where, from where, from where did it go?

Performances

And even last, although there was a hero versus villain fight because there was something else also happening because Dhanush was fighting someone else also, I was like, no yaar. So, I don’t know; I didn’t enjoy the second half because of that twist. Dhanush shouldn’t have written that twist like that. He could have written something else. It could have purely been a hero vs villain story, with the brothers joining in. But, what can I say? Anyways, friends, acting performances by Dhanush are top-class, outstanding, and very, very good. Sandeep Kishan is very nice. Kalidas, very good. Dushara Vijay is an excellent actress.

Very, very good. S. J. Surya is very, very nice. Everyone has given an excellent performance. Aparna Balamurli is wasted. Uh, Varalaxmi Sharathkumar, wasted. What was her role? There was no role. But the rest, the acting performance is very, very good. Dhanush’s direction is top-class. action sequences are very, very nicely shot.

Conclusion

One thing that I found lacking in the film was that it was very dark. I feel like I erred. I mean, I shot the night. I felt like, man, I wish someone had given me a torch. I could have lit a torch on the screen, man. The film should have been a little brighter, in my opinion. But otherwise, it’s okay, man.
